VMware has decided that its fight to remain the leading virtualization software supplier may be decided not in the data center but in the cloud. At least that appears to be its conclusion, as it rapidly expands a cloud ecosystem that is compatible with its product line. VMware users now have 94 cloud service providers to choose from in a wide variety of geographies, company spokesmen announced Tuesday.
