I own a small, home-based business that started in 2002. I used to work in the ISP business as a NOC Manager and decided to design and build my first online web store to add to my skill sets. In the beginning, I needed some handholding regarding various components of my databases and the integration of the shopping cart system being used throughout the site. Through Google, I researched between 20-30 other hosting companies. At first glance, Hosting.com looked visually appealing, and when I delved deeper, I found their prices were very competitive. After speaking with them over the phone and asking some technical questions I quickly realized they were a first class organization.
As my binoculars site grew in popularity on the search engines I began to run into heavy spamming and traffic problems, Hosting.com quickly introduced a solution to keep SPAM out and had it implemented the next day. They are also on the ball with bandwidth issues on their servers. When I noticed latency issues by way of shared customers on the server, they immediately took my site and moved it to a new server so it wouldn't get bogged down. They are very fluent in my technology and their strong technical backgrounds and customer service skill sets make it easy to troubleshoot and explain any issues to me when needed.
Hosting.com does a great job keeping my website very reliable; the server rarely experiences any downtime which is a huge advantage when the search engines come crawling and when shoppers are visiting!
I would rate Hosting.com's customer service First Class. There is never a delay in dealing with an issue or a problem. Many times I feel like I'm the only customer there and because of that many of the reps are on a first name basis with me. You get the feeling that you are dealing with a group of friends, not just a business, and that is a nice relationship to have. I have recommended them to other people who have also joined and are pleased with their service.
