Choosing the Right Amount of CPU for your Cloud

Picking the correct amount of vCPU's needed for your Cloud Enterprise is one of the more important decisions you will need to make when you are ordering your server. While you do have the option of choosing anywhere from one vCPU, up to eight vCPu's, you need to observe several factors;

• Does your Operating System support SMP (Symmetric Multiprocessing)?
• Do you have any applications that would be able to take advantage of mupltiple CPU's?
• How much load do you expect your server to handle?

While most Operating Systems provided by Hosting.com will support SMP, if you are providing us with your own image (VDMK or OVF), then it would be let up to you to make sure that the Operating System in that image does infact support SMP.
