The resource, limits and email address are all specified by you during the creation of the alarm. This is only available for Virtual Machine accounts.
To create an alarm for your virtual machine (VM), please follow these steps:
- Browse to the Customer Portal located at https://customer.hosting.com
- Login as the administrative user.
- If you have more than one account, select the appropriate account from the Current Account drop down in the top right corner.
- From the menu, click Cloud > Manage.
- Click the ID number for the VM you wish to Manage.
- In the Alarms section, click Add a New Alarm.
- Enter the requested information
- Name: enter a name for the alarm
- Type: choose the resource you wish to monitor
- Operator: select if the resource needs to be above or below the specified values
- Warn Value: enter a value that signifies a resource warning, this will display a warning message within the control panel
- Fail Value: enter a value that signifies a resource failure, this will send a notification to the email address specified
