Restore a backup via the Customer Portal with Avamar

This article will go over restoring a backup for a server that is using Avamar via the Customer Portal. This applies only to Cloud and Dedicated accounts using Avamar. This does not apply to those servers running Righteous.

  1. Log into the customer portal at https://customer.hosting.com with your email address and password.
  2. Once logged in, navigate to the Backups tab.

  3. From the drop down, select Restore.
  4. You will see a listing of the servers that are being backed up on the left side of the page. Drill down to the server you wish to restore and allow the page to reload. Once it reloads, the center/right side of the portal will activate the Restore button.

  5. Expand the drive you wish to restore and place a checkbox next to those folders/files you are restoring. Once the folders/files are selected, click the Restore button. If you wish to clear those checked folders/files, click Clear Selection.
  6. If you are restoring to a different destination folder than the original, enter this directory in the Destination Directory field. Note: This directory must exist before restoring the files on the server. Choose the Destination Client/Server from the drop down. When all is filled out, click OK.

  7. Allow the restore to complete taking into consideration it can take some time depending on the amount of data being restored. If the restore completes successfully, a pop-up will appear stating the success. The same can be said of a failure and the portal will alert you to the failure in a similar manner.
