Reset a FileZilla User Password
This article will go over changing an existing user's password in FileZilla Server. This applied only to Dedicated and Virtual Machines running Windows with FileZilla Server installed.
To change an existing user's password in FileZilla, please follow these steps:
- Log into the server via Remote Desktop. If you are unfamiliar with Remote Desktop, please see Connecting via Remote Desktop.
- Once logged in, open FileZilla Server. In most cases, the icon is in the task tray. If not, the program can be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\FileZilla Server.
- Within the FileZilla Server interface, open the user list by clicking the single user icon in the top navigation bar.
- A user list will be presented. Select the user in the right sidebar. In the password field, enter in a new, secure password for the user. Click OK. The FTP user password is now updated and takes effect immediately.
