Change Admin Email Address for dotDefender Blocked Requests
dotDefender includes a feature which enables the addition of a link to the Blocked Request page, which is the page users receive when their request is blocked. This link, when selected by the user, creates an email message which includes the Reference ID, client IP and date. To use this feature, follow the instructions below for IIS:
- Open the dotDefender Administration console.
- Select the security profile of your choice, or select the Default Security Profile if the site for which you wish to add the link is using the Default Security Profile.
- On the right pane, in the Error Page section, type an email address in the "Email address for blocked request report" field.
- Choose whether to use the Default error page or use a custom error page as a Blocked-Request message. If a custom error page is selected, type the local path to the file and verify it has the appropriate permissions (It is recommended to use a file located in the wwwroot or subdirectories).
- Press the Apply Change (Green arrow) button in the top toolbar for settings to take effect.
- Edit the Blocked-Request error page - If you have chosen to use the default blocked-request error page, edit the file typically located in: C:\Program Files\Applicure\dotDefender for IIS\etc\denied.htm. If you have chosen to use a custom error page, create the file or edit an existing page. Add the string: %MAILTO_BLOCK% (In capital letters) anywhere in the body section of the page.
- You may also edit the content of the email and the way the link appears on the page, by editing the content of the page, typically located in: C:\Program Files\Applicure\dotDefender for IIS\etc\mailto_block.htm
