Migrating dotDefender Settings to New Hardware
This article will assist you in moving your dotDefender settings over to new hardware during a migration process. This has been tested with dotDefender 3.x and 4.x. This only applies to Cloud and Dedicated accounts. You can view more information about dotDefender at http://www.hosting.com/services/managed-services/security/web-application-security.
- Move the $:\Program Files\Applicure\dotDefender\ETC directory from the old hardware to the desktop of the new server.
- Install dotDefender on the new server (it should be the same version as the old server had. If it is not, please open up a ticket with support to see if you can migrate the settings still).
- On the new server, backup the $:\Program Files\Applicure\dotDefender\ETC folder to $:\Program Files\Applicure\dotDefender\ETC-old (Just copy and paste the folder, then rename the "Copy of" version).
- On the new server, replace $:\Program Files\Applicure\dotDefender\ETC with the folder you placed on the desktop in step 1.
