Set up email account in Entourage

This article explains how to set up your email account in Microsoft Entourage 2008 on your Macintosh.

  1. Click on the "Entourage" menu, then "Account Settings"
  2. Click on the "New" button, and in the New Account box, select POP or IMAP, and click "OK"
  3. Enter the following information on the Edit Account screen:
    • Account Name:    a label for your account
    • Name:        your name
    • Email Address:    the email address the messages will be sent from
    • Account ID:        the email address the messages will be sent from
    • POP server:    mail.domain.com
    • Password:        your password
    • SMTP server:    mail.domain.com
  4. Click on "Click here for advanced sending options"
  5. Add a checkmark to "SMTP server requires authentication"
  6. Select "Use same settings as receiving mail server"
