Check Exchange Email Quota in Outlook

This article goes over checking the email quota for an Exchange account.  This article applies only to Exchange and Outlook.  You may also check the exchange email quota via OWA.

Outlook 2010

  1. Open Outlook 2010.  Click File and select Info in the left column. The Mailbox Cleanup section will display the currently used space for the Exchange user.
  2. If you need a detailed listing of the space, click Cleanup Tools within the Mailbox Cleanup section mentioned.
  3. Select Mailbox Cleanup from the drop down listing.
  4. Click the View Mailbox Size button and your total usage is listed next to Total Size (including subfolders) with a detailed listing below that.

Outlook 2007, Outlook 2003, Outlook 2002 (cached mode)

  1. Open Outlook.  From the Tools menu, select Mailbox Cleanup.
  2. Click the View Mailbox Size button (Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2003) or Click Here (Outlook 2002).  
  3. If you are not using Cached Exchange Mode, these settings may be different in which case, see below.

Outlook 2007, Outlook 2003, Outlook 2002 (non-cached mode)

  1. Open Outlook.  From the View menu, select Folder List.
  2. In the Folder List column, right-click Outlook Today - Your Name (where Your Name is your name).
  3. Select Properties.
  4. Under the General tab, click the Folder Size button and the total usage will be next to Total Size with a detailed listing below that.
