Set Up Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac with HMC

This article is for Mac OS X and users using Microsoft Outlook 2011 for the Mac.  If you wish to set up Mac Mail for HMC, please see our KB article Set Up Mac Mail for HMC Exchange.

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac. Navigate to Tools > Accounts and click the + sign.
  2. New Exchange Account for Outlook 2011 for the Mac
  3. Choose Exchange.

  5. Enter in the full email address for the HMC user (i.e. user@domain.com).
  6. For the authentication method, choose User Name and Password.
  7. For the username, enter in the short username as found in the HMC portal (something like HMC\shortusername) and the password for the user. Leave the checkbox for Configure Automatically checked.
  8. New Exchange Account for Outlook 2011 for the Mac
  9. Click Add Account and the setup will start. A dialog window will appear asking if you want to use the autodiscover record for autodiscover.safesecureweb.com. Select Allow. Select the checkbox for Always use my  response for this server if you wish to never see the popup box again.
  10. New Exchange Account for Outlook 2011 for the Mac
  11. The account will then be setup successfully and you can further configure it to your liking.
