How do I use the Hosted Exchange and SharePoint setup wizard?

The following article explains how to use the Hosted Exchange and SharePoint setup wizard. The setup wizard is available the first time you setup Hosted Exchange and SharePoint for your domain. The setup wizard will guide you through the creation of an Exchange Mailbox and/or a SharePoint site. Once the wizard is completed, you can begin managing your domain.

To use the setup wizard, please follow these steps:

  1. Open a browser window and go to www.HostMySite.com
  2. Click on Control Panel Login.
  3. Log into the Control Panel as the Account Administrator and select the appropriate domain.
  4. Click the Hosted Exchange & SharePoint banner to connect to the web portal.
  5. Enter the domain name and click Continue.
  6. If you wish to create an Exchange Mailbox, click Yes. Otherwise click No and skip to step 11.
  7. If we host DNS for your domain name, the wizard will give you the opportunity to have the MX record updated automatically. Otherwise it will ask you to continue.
  8. Choose the Exchange Domain Type.
  9. Enter the requested information:
    • Email Address: enter the user name
    • Password: enter a valid password
    • Confirm Password: re-enter the password
    • First Name: the users first name
    • Last Name: the users last name
    • Select the appropriate Mailbox Plan.
  10. Click Continue.
  11. If you wish to create a SharePoint site, click Yes. Otherwise click No and you are done.
  12. If you would like to use the Exchange user you just created, click Yes. Otherwise click No and create an Exchange user.
  13. Enter the requested information for the SharePoint site:
    • Plan: the plan type the customer requested
    • Site Name: a name for the SharePoint site that will be displayed when a user logs into SharePoint
    • Title: a title for the SharePoint site
    • Description: a description for the SharePoint site
    • Web Template: a visual template for the SharePoint site
    • Owner: the user responsible for the SharePoint site
    • Sub Domain: the host name for the SharePoint site, must be based on the domain name
  14. Click Continue.
  15. Notate the DNS information for your Hosted Exchange and SharePoint site.
  16. Click Manage Domain to continue.
