Adding and Removing Subscribers from a Mailing List

This article explains the steps necessary to add and remove users from a mailing list through the SmarterMail web interface.

1. Open a browser window go to one of the following URLs:

  http://list.yourdomainname.com

  http://mail##.safesecureweb.com - server name provided when list was created

2. Login as root@list.yourdomain.com or as one of the users you have created on the server

3. Click on Settings in the top menu bar

4. Expand the Domain Settings section of the left navigation section and select Mailing Lists

5. Double click on the list name that you would like to edit.

6. Hover over the Subscribers icon at top then select Subscribers from the drop down list

To add individual emails

Click on the Add Emails icon. This will bring up a window where you can enter the new subscriber emails to the list. You must only enter one email address per line.

To upload a .txt file of Subscribers

Click the Upload icon. This will bring up a section where you can select the file to upload. If you wish to add the users in the file to a list with previous subscribers, choose the Append option. Duplicates will not be uploaded and the existing subscribers will remain. If you wish to only keep the subscribers in the new file, select the Replace option.

To download the current subscriber list

Click the Download icon. This will bring up a prompt to to Open or Save a list.txt file with the list's subscribers

To delete subscribers

Click the check box next to the desired subscriber(s). If you wish to delete the entire list, click the box next to Email Address at the top of the list. Once you have selected the email address(es) you wish to deleted, click on the Delete icon. This will bring up a comfirmation prompt to make sure you want to delete the selected users.

To find a address in the list

Click the Search icon then enter full email address or domain name to find all email address(es) matching that string.
