Send email to a list server using a password
The following article explains how to set up your mailing lists to use a password. Using a password adds a layer of security to the list so that only authorized users can send to it
-
Open a browser window go to one of the following URLs:
- http://server.safesecureweb.com - server name provided when list was created
- Login as root@list.yourdomainname.com with your primary FTP password.
- From the Domain Settings menu select Mailing Lists.
- Select the List you want to set a password for, and choose Edit.
-
Enter a password for the list
-
When sending that message, start the subject line with [:PASSWORD:] followed by your subject line.
- The Password will be removed when sent to the list, so recipients will not see it, however if you CC or BCC your email to anyone they will see the password.
