Calculating Shipping Charges in Miva 5.5

Miva Merchant 5 comes pre-installed with 9 shipping modules.

Weight Table Based Shipping

This module configures shipping based on a specific charge for a set weight range. You can include a handling charge. You can also assign additional shipping cost on a per-product basis.

Price Table Based Shipping

You can configure shipping based on the orders subtotal (before tax). You can include a handling charge.

Quantity Based Shipping

This simple module allows you to charge shipping based on the number of items ordered.

Minimum Weight Shipping

This module lets you configure shipping based on a dollar amount per weight unit (i.e. pounds or ounces), with a minimum charge amount.

Flat Rate Shipping

This module makes it easy to charge a flat ship cost per order, regardless of item quantities and weights.

Base + Weight Shipping

You can configure shipping based on a base fee plus a specific amount per weight unit.

FedEx

This module synchs with the FedEx gateway for real-time configurations.

U.S.P.S. Online Rate Calculation

This module calculates both domestic and international shipping using the USPS gateway.

UPS Online

This module offers UPS rate calculations (currently using rate tables; not connected in real-time).

Assigning a Shipping Module

You can assign shipping modules to the store as you need. However, if any orders have been placed using an active shipping configuration, those orders will need to be removed from the system before you can remove the shipping method OR the shipping module itself will need to be deactivated.

1. In the Admin Menu, click the Shipping Configuration link
2. Check off any methods you'd like to use
3. Click the Update button
