How do I delete my expired shopping baskets?
The following article explains how to delete expired shopping baskets in a MIVA Merchant store. If a customer enters the store, places items in their shopping basket and leaves the store without submitting the purchase, the shopping basket will remain in MIVA Merchant and eventually expire. Expired shopping baskets take up valuable space and can cause poor store performance. It is recommended to delete expired shopping baskets at least twice a week and to have the store in Maintenance Mode at the time of deletion.
Note: Placing the store in Maintenance Mode will prevent customers from viewing the store and placing orders. It is recommended to place the store in Maintenance Mode during off peak hours.
To place the store in Maintenance Mode, please follow these steps:
- Log into the MIVA Merchant Admin section located at http://store.domainname.com/merchant2/admin.mvc. If this address does not work, you may need to use http://domainname.com/merchant2/admin.mvc. Older MIVA Merchant stores were configured with this address..
- Expand the Stores menu.
- Click on the Store Name.

- Click Maintenance Mode from the menu.

- Select Offline and set a specific time for
your store to go offline.

- You may enter a Warning Message and a Maintenance Message that will be displayed when a customer attempts to view your store.
- Click Update.
