Launchpad Configuration in Miva 5.5

The Launchpad includes shortcuts (links to commonly accessed areas of the Admin) as well as a quick find feature (for quickly locating orders, products, etc.).

Initially, shortcuts are configured for viewing the store (front end), viewing orders, adding products, packing data and deleting expired baskets.

To access the configuration area, click Configure Shortcuts or Launchpad (or, access it under Global Settings: Domain Settings).

From this area you can apply pre-defined links, or create custom links for the Launchpad Shortcuts bar. To modify existing links, click the Edit button.

To configure internal links (specific sections of the Admin) select the "Other (Internal) Link" and enter the SCREEN and STORE codes, and, if necessary, the Module Type. This configuration may require some trial and error.

For example, to create a shortcut for the Shipping Settings screen, enter:

Screen=SMOD&Store_Code=**enter-your-store-code-here**&Module_Type=shipping

To locate the Screen & Module Type you can hover your mouse over any of the links in the Admin Menu. The full URL will appear in the browser's status bar (at the bottom of the browser window).

Only copy the code that begins with "Screen=" and forward.

You can also configure links to expand menus. To locate the proper URL, hover the mouse over the + next to the Admin Menu item and be sure to also copy the code that includes "Expanded=". For example, to create a shortcut link to expand the Categories menu, you would enter:

Using Quick Find

The Quick Find feature allows you to quickly locate Orders, Products, Categories or Customers. Use the pull-down menu to select which section you'd like to search, enter the term (such as an order number, customer last name, or product / category code) and click Go (or press the Enter key). The Quick Find feature is not configurable.
