Logging Affiliate Payouts in Miva 5.5

You'll want to log your payouts you make so you can verify what is owed. Affiliates can also log in to their affiliate account and see payment records.

1. In the Affiliate Configuration screen, click the Payouts link
2. In the top right-hand corner, click the button
3. Click the Continue button
4. A screen will display, showing you which affiliates are to be paid, along with the amount to pay
5. To print a copy of the payout receipt(s), click the Printer icon
6. To confirm the payment has been sent, open the click the Payouts link and check off the Processed box
7. Click the Update button

Logging Individual Payouts

You can log and process a payout for a specific affiliate without handling payouts for any other affiliate. To log a payout for a single affiliate, open the affiliate's record for editing, and click the Commission link. Next, click the Payout (This Affiliate Only) link, then the Payout link at the top of the screen. Mark payout as processed and click Update.

Troubleshooting the Affiliate Program

There are things the built-in Affiliate program does not do, and understanding how it tracks referrals will give you some insight to any issues.

Cookies

When shoppers arrive at the store via a referring link, a cookie is put on their computer. The cookies are used to identify shoppers as they navigate the store and checkout, all so the affiliate can receive a commission for the order. However, if a customer's browser is set to not allow cookies to be installed, the order cannot be tracked and the affiliate will not receive a commission.

Application Statuses

If you fail to approve an affiliate (if the affiliate account is set to disabled or pending) the affiliate, regardless of cookies being active or not, will not earn any commissions.
