Take the Store Offline

From time to time you may want to make updates to your online store without letting the public see a work in progress. You may also need to perform other tasks that may require the store be taken offline.

Maintenance Mode allows you to take the store offline for any maintenance or for emergencies, such as data corruption. It also allows you to notify customers when the store will go offline (for scheduled maintenance), and provide any message to them.

1. In the Admin Menu, click your store's link
2. On the right, click the Maintenance Mode link
3. Set the options

Store Activity: You can toggle between the store being online or offline. If the store is set to go offline, you can set a predetermined date and time. If it needs to go offline right away, you would enter the current date and time.

No New Customer: This setting allows you to prohibit new shoppers from using the store if they enter it X number of minutes before scheduled maintenance

Warning Message: You can display a warning message above the navigation bar, telling customers the store will be going offline. You can use the available tokens listed at the bottom of this configuration screen to display information dynamically.

Maintenance Message: You can customize a message, telling customers the store is offline for maintenance. You can use the available tokens listed at the bottom of this configuration screen to display information dynamically.

4. Click the Update button

Turn the Store Online

To turn the store back online click the Maintenance Mode link, select Store Online and click the Update button.
