Add a new database in Plesk

This article will go over adding a new database to a domain within Plesk.

1. Open a web browser and connect to your Plesk Control Panel located at https://ip address:8443.  Accept the self-signed certificate in your browser.
2. Login as the Administrator using the information sent to in the initial setup email.
3. Click the link for Domains under the General section.

   

4. Click the domain for which you are adding the new database.

   

5. Click the icon for Databases under the Services section.

   

6. Click the icon for Add New Database on the next screen.

   

7. In the next screen, fill in the database and click OK. The database can be prefixed or the prefix can be removed. Leave MySQL and Local MySQL Server in the drop down boxes.

   

8. The database is now created. To add a user to the database, click the Add New Database User icon.

   

9. On the next screen, fill in the Database User Name and enter in a secure password. Click OK.

   

10. After clicking OK, the user is now added to the database and you can connect to MySQL with the username and password specified.
