Add RBLs to SmarterMail for Spam Protection
A good means of reducing the amount of spam received is by adding/adjusting RBLs via the SmarterMail interface.
You can find a list of RBLs to compare at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_DNS_blacklists
Log into SmarterMail as administrator

Select Security > Antispam Administration > Add RBL

Set the Name as <RBL NAME>
Set the Weight as 30
Set the IP Address as the RBL address
Click Save
Example)

We suggest adding the following RBLs:
proxyBL
dnsbl.proxybl.org
Sorbs
dnsbl.sorbs.net
Spamhaus
zen.spamhaus.org
CBL
cbl.abuseat.org
SpamCop
bl.spamcop.net
Once you've completed adding these RBLs you now must enable them for filtering and SMTP Blocking in SmarterMail, Click Save

Now you must change the filter action for level 30
Click Filtering Tab, Change Default Action for Level 30 to Move to Junk E-Mail Folder and click Save

Now you must enable SMTP Blocking for level 30
Click SMTP Blocking Tab, Check Enabled for Incoming Weight Threshold and click Save

Now all incoming mail servers will be checked against the RBLs you've and if the IP is listed the message will be blocked. This should greatly reduce blatant spam.
