Re-Start SmarterMail Service
When attempting to log on to web mail via the SmarterMail interface you may receive the error "Unable to connect to SmarterMail service"
This means the SmarterMail service on your server is not running. This article will walk you through restarting the SmarterMail service and setting redundancy on the service.
Connect via Remote Desktop to your server
Start > Run > mstsc <enter>
Once connected, log in as root
Launch Services, Start > Run > services.msc <enter>
Find SmarterMail Service in the list of services and Click Start

Right-Click the SmarterMail Service and Select Properties

Click Recovery Tab; Change First Failure, Second Failure, and Subsequent Failures to "Restart the Service"
Click Apply, Click OK

Now if the SmarterMail service does not start properly on boot Windows will attempt to Restart the Service up to 3x which should ensure the service starts properly.
