Set a forwarding blacklist for SmarterMail

This article will go over setting up a forwarding blacklist for SmarterMail. It is often the case that if spam comes into an account from a remote server and then is forwarded off to another remote ISP, that ISP considers your account as the originating source of the spam even if you are not the originating source. Following the steps below will prevent the mail from being forwarded to certain ISPs.

To prevent forwarding to certain domains SmarterMail, please follow these steps:

  1. Log into the email domain as the domain administrator.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Routing > Forwarding Blacklist.

  3. Click New and enter in the domain you wish to blacklist forwarding.

  4. Click Save. Any users that have forwarding setup to the domain entered will not be able to automatically forward mail to that domain.
