Use Reports in SmarterMail

This article will go over the reporting features offered in SmarterMail. This applies to all shared accounts as well as Cloud and Dedicated Windows accounts.

To view message traffic reports for all users on a domain, please follow these steps:

  1. Log into SmarterMail as the domain administrator. Typically the URL is mail.<yourdomain>.com.
  2. Once logged in as the domain administrator, go to Reports > Domain Summary Reports > Traffic Reports. From there, click Message Traffic. By default, it will show the past week. You can change the date range on the calendar. This will show the traffic of incoming messages, outgoing messages, and spam. This report also includes Aliases, if any. When you see the user _other being reported, it is typically considered spoofing, i.e. sending from a non-existing account. We'd recommend setting up an SPF record if that is the case. To view message data reports for all users on a domain, please follow these steps:

  1. Log into SmarterMail as the domain administrator. Typically the URL is mail.<yourdomain>.com.
  2. Once logged in as the domain administrator, go to Reports > Domain Summary Reports > Traffic Reports. From there, click Message Data. By default, it will show the past week. You can change the date range on the calendar. This report will show the data sent and received for the time frame specified broken down by user

To view disk usage for all users on a domain, please follow these steps:

  1. Log into SmarterMail as the domain administrator. Typically the URL is mail.<yourdomain>.com.
  2. Once logged in as the domain administrator, go to Reports > Domain Summary Reports > Traffic Reports. From there, click Disk Usage. By default, it will show the past week.
  3. This will report the total disk usage for the domain and individual users as well as the average disk space used across all users.

There are numerous other reports within this portion of SmarterMail as well which you can see. As a user, you can also view your usage by logging in as that account. When logged in as the user though, you will not be able to see domain statistics and can only see those reports relevant to your account.
