Install SmarterStats 5 and Configure Sites

Installation of SmarterStats 5.x

1. Download the SmarterStats installation file from the SmarterTools Website
2. Run the SmarterStats5_Setup File

   

3. Upon completion of installation you will enter the Setup Wizard.
   • Note: The default login is "admin" for the site ID field, "admin" for the username, and "admin" for the password field.

   

4. Leave the SmarterLogs Path as C:\SmarterLogs\ and Set Your Time Zone

   

5. If you want to configure a site now select Add a Site Now and hit Next

   

6. Enter your Site Name, and a User Name and Password as the Administrator for this site.

   

7. Log Format should be IIS - W3Cex Log Format
   • Under IIS6 the Log Path should be C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles\
   • Under IIS7 the Log Path should be C:\inetput\logs\logfiles\

   

8. Upon logging in as the administrator for the first time, the product will run as the Free edition. To activate the Professional or Entreprise edition of the software, you will need a valid license key.  If you have not received your license information please contact support.

Add additional sites to SmarterStats.

1. Click Manage > Sites > New

   

2. On the Options Tab enter the Site Name, Administrator User Name and Password and set the Time Zone

   

3. Log Format should be IIS - W3Cex Log Forma
   • Under IIS6 the Log Path should be C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles
   • Under IIS7 the Log Path should be C:\inetput\logs\logfiles\

5. Once finished click Save

Now SmarterStats will parse through available IIS Logs for the specified site.
