Upgrade SmarterStats
Follow these steps to upgrade to the latest version of SmarterStats whether it is a minor version upgrade or a major version upgrade

Run the auto installer.

During the installation process you will be prompted for the installation path. The default path listed is recommended. Once done, the installer will initialize and you can log into SmarterStats admin. You may need to change the SmarterStats site in IIS to use ASP .NET 2.x rather than ASP .NET 1.x in order for SmarterStats to function properly.
How to upgrade the SmarterStats License
In upgrading to a new major version of SmarterStats (i.e. 3.x to 4.x), a new license will need to be obtained.

Go to SmarterTools Web Portal and request your login and password for smartertools.com if you do not have it. In most cases, this is your account administrative email address.
- After you receive your login, log into the site.

Once logged in, click License Keys.

Click your current license under License Keys to upgrade it.

Click the Upgrade/Renew License button. Go through the checkout process with smartertools.com. Once the license is upgraded, you can install the appropriate version of SmarterStats following the above outlined steps and apply the license.
