When I think about what I’m thankful for, the first thing that comes to mind is our team. It is humbling to work with such a great group of people (380 in all!) that come together every day to solve our customer’s cloud hosting problems. As I have always said, the true value proposition of HOSTING is its people. It is the source of HOSTING’s strength.
We have talented employees that have worked in this high-pressure environment for over a decade — becoming better cloud engineers because of the trials and tribulations they face each day. Teammates like Matt Ferrari (CTO), Brian Raboin (CSO) and Don Barlow (VP Operations) have risen to leadership roles because they understand and anticipate our customer’s toughest challenges.
We work with mission-critical business applications in the cloud. This means that every second counts and any amount of downtime is painful for our customers. We have made mistakes, but we have improved and learned from each of them. In addition, to drive that customer focus from top to bottom, our customers actually dictate compensation for our team — 100% of our bonus is tied to our Net Promoter Score (NPS). It’s because of this we are confident that we have the best talent in the industry, and for that I’m thankful.
None of this would be possible without our customers, and for each and every one of them, I’m truly grateful! Every customer has their own unique business model, goals and aspirations, and it’s rewarding to be part of their journey. During this holiday season I reflect on those customers that are doing great work for mankind such as Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders), The Food Bank for New York City, The National Adoption Center and United Way to name a few.
